The Alfrocheiro appeared in Portugal and Dão after phylloxera, where it finds its natural territory. But we do not know of foreign kinship or national origins, despite the fact that it was once known by the name “Tinta Francesa de Viseu”. A very rare and high-altitude grape variety, it teaches us to produce little and respect its fragility, to obtain firm but very delicate and structuring tannins.
